As soon as the panel is exposed to daylight, the LED will light up and the panel will begin sending a trickle charge to the battery. It will continue to send power as long as it is exposed to sufficient daylight. Mounting options You may choose to permanently mount the panel to the front or rear dash by using the four stainless mounting screws provided. Unless the panel is mounted solidly, it is recommended that it be stored in a safe location (glove box, underneath seat) when the vehicle is in motion.
Connection through a cigarette lighter adapter or 12V power socket Connect the power cable into the back of the panel, then connect the male cigarette lighter adapter into your vehicle’s 12V power female socket. Ensure that the connectors at both ends fit firmly into their sockets.
IMPORTANT NOTE: In some car models, the cigarette lighter socket is inactive while the vehicle is turned off. Please consult your car owner’s manual. Connecting directly to the battery Connect the battery clamps to the battery, matching positive to positive and negative to negative. NOTE: The installation procedure above is an abstract from the complete manual (included in the box). Before installing your solar charger please consult this full paper version.
